Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooma lakum itha qeela lakumu infiroo fee sabeeli Allahiiththaqaltum ila al-ardi aradeetum bilhayatiaddunya mina al-akhirati fama mataAAualhayati addunya fee al-akhiratiilla qaleel

1. يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believe
2. ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believe
3. ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believe

7. قِيلَqīlait is said
8. لَكُمُlakumuto you
9. ٱنفِرُوا۟infirūgo forth
10. فِىfīin
11. سَبِيلِsabīli(the) way
12. ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
13. ٱثَّاقَلْتُمْithāqaltumyou cling heavily
14. إِلَىilāto
15. ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚl-arḍithe earth
16. أَرَضِيتُمaraḍītumAre you pleased
17. بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِbil-ḥayatiwith the life
18. ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the world
19. مِنَmina(rather) than
20. ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚl-ākhiratithe Hereafter
21. فَمَاfamāBut what
22. مَتَـٰعُmatāʿu(is the) enjoyment
23. ٱلْحَيَوٰةِl-ḥayati(of) the life
24. ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the world
25. فِىfīin (comparison to)
26. ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe hereafter
27. إِلَّاillāexcept
28. قَلِيلٌqalīluna little
